Proper Usage of German Negation Words

This article takes a deeper look at some German negation words. A basic discussion of negation focused on the difference between nicht and kein, when to use nicht  with  sondern and when kein  with  sondern is more appropriate.  Beyond these preliminary concepts, there are more words that express negation in German. Many of these begin with the letter N. Other German Negation Words Beginning With N These words include: niemand (pronoun, nobody/no one)nichts (pronoun, nothing)niemals (adv., never)nie (adv., never)nirgendwo (adv., nowhere) You will always find a lot of jokes and play on words with these and other German negation words. Consider the following over-the-top use of negation:   Wenn niemand niemals nirgendswo hingeht, dann kann keiner niemanden treffen, nicht wahr? Keine Sorgen! Dies wird nie geschehen.  Translation: If nobody never goes anywhere, then no one could meet anybody, is that not so? No worries! This will never happen. No worries really, if feeling a little dazed after reading that, because the good news is that these other negation words follow the same rules as other words of their grammatical type, with hardly any exceptions. Word Placement Rules Nichts and Niemand As indefinite pronouns, these words can replace either a subject or object: Niemand hat mich heute gesehen. (Nobody saw me today.)Ich will mit niemanden spielen. (I dont want to play with anybody.)Nichts schmeckt gut. (Nothing tastes good.)Er will nichts essen. (He doesnt want to eat anything.) Niemals, Nie, and Nirgendwo These adverbs can stand alone, be placed before a verb, or be placed at the end of a phrase. Here are some examples: Hast du jemals geraucht? (Have you ever smoked?)Nie. (Never.)Er hat mich nie angerufen. (He never called me.) The word order of this negated sentence allows for a contrasting negation with sondern: Er hat mich nie angerufen, sondern immer besucht. (He never called me, he always visited me.) Otherwise, these negation words are often placed at or near the end of the sentence: Er ruft mich nie an. (He never calls me.)Sie besucht mich niemals. (She never visits me.) To emphasize the negation, the negation adverb can be placed at the front of the sentence: Nie hat er mich angerufen! (Never has he called me!)Nirgendwo ist es sicher! (Nowhere is it safe!) Declination Nichts is an undeclinable pronoun. On the other hand niemand is declinable, but increasingly not declined. According to the Duden, it is now correct to also leave the word niemand undeclined. For example: Er hat heute niemand gesehen. (He saw no one today.)Er hat heute niemanden gesehen. Both ways are acceptable. To those of you who want to hold on to the declination of niemand, here is its declination. Take note that niemand is a singular word that doesn’t have a plural. Nominative: niemandGenitive: niemandesDative: niemandemAccusative: niemanden Additional Grammar Rules and Tips Difference Between Nichts and Nicht Nichts is not the plural of nicht or a declination thereof! They have two separate meanings: Nicht (adv.) - not; nichts (pron.)- nothing. Therefore they can not be interchanged. Nirgendwo You will often hear and read many related words and substitutes for nirgendwo. Likewise, you will also often hear and read opinions over which related words are actually correct. Here’s the breakdown: Substitutes:  nirgends, nirgendswoRelated: nirgendwohin/nirgendhin/nirgendshin, nirgendwoher/nirgendher/nirgendsher. Wrong: Nirgendswohin, nirgendswoher Opposites of Negation Words It is important to know the opposites of German negation words, so as to know how to reply to questions involving such words. Some words such as niemand can have several opposite negation words (jemand  meaning somebody or irgendjemand/ irgendwer meaning anybody) each one changing slightly the meaning of the sentence.   Negation and Affirmative Words Positive Negative Example Time jemals, oft, manchmal, immer nie, niemals Hast du jemals Deutschland besucht? (Have you ever visited Germany?)Ich habe noch nie Deutschland besucht. (Ive never visited Germany.) Place irgendwo nirgendwo Irgendwo in meiner Wohnung, muss mein Reisepass sein. (Somewhere in my apartment, must be my passport.)Ich kann ihn aber nirgendwo finden! (But I cant find it anywhere!) Direction irgendwohin nirgendwohin Gehst du morgen irgendwohin?(Are you going somewhere tomorrow?)Nee, leider gehe ich morgen nirgendwohin. (No, unfortunately, I am not going anywhere tomorrow.) People jemand, irgendjemand, irgendwer Niemand/Keiner Jemand aus meiner Familie wird mich am Bahnhof treffen. (Somebody from my family will meet me at the train station.)Niemand/Keiner wird mich am Bahnhof treffen.(Nobody is going to meet me at the train station.) Non-People etwas, alles nichts Hast du etwas auf dem Flug gegessen? (Did you eat anything on the flight?)Ich habe nichts auf dem Flug gegessen.(I ate nothing on the flight.)

The Case For Free Range Parenting - 845 Words

In â€Å" The Case for Free-Range Parenting,† an article in The New York Times, Clemens Wergin discusses should children go out without parents or older people supervision. Wergin said parents don’t need to be with their children when they go out, and he thinks it can help child easier to fit in a new community. However, that is illegal in U.S, and most American children spent their free time at home. Today children have no freedom in their childhood because most parents are taking their children with them everywhere they go, but it is even danger then let their children roam freely. Also, give more freedom to children they will easier to control their anger and fear than the kids that have no freedom. At the end, Wergin thinks child desire freedom because they will have more confidence and know how to face risks. Response When a person remember the childhood is all with parents, playing in park with parents, going to school with parents, watch TV with parents. It sounds like a very happy family. But, where are the friends? It is sad to have no friend memory because it just likes nothing special happen in the life. I had a lots freedom when I was youth because my parents were very busy. Importance of Proper Business Strategies-Free-Samples for Students

Question: Disucss about the importance of proper business strategies to achieve profit in the long run. Answer: Introduction Coming from a decent background of marketing and advertising, it is not an easy task to think and estimate each idea down to the earth. The task of running a business in the modern world has been further increased by the limitation of resources and time. However I decided to venture into a new world of possibilities and started my own business. The company which I started in Australia is an Advertisement company which provides online advertisements solution to the private as well as public sector companies. Products The products of my company mainly constitute online advertisements in different web pages, web portals and search engine pages. We also offer a variety of innovative ad ideas to ther ad agencies. Apart from online contents we also design offline contents to be displayed in television and newspapers. Revenue The company was started on a decent capital of just a few dollars and at the beginning we had to take the help of demo software and free contents to our customers. But as time passed by we were flooded with offers from different companies that led to a steady increase in our annual revenue. Our company is now listed in the Australian stock exchange to be a 150 million dollar company. Summary As mentioned in the case study the new decade has provided the advertising companies with new challenges. The industry was seen to be undergoing a rapid transformation with the emergence of new companies like Google and Yahoo that brought in the concept of Digital Revolution. Earlier the different advertising agencies had the business objective to target a specific audience on behalf of the clients with special information that encourages these companies to try a product or service or ultimately purchase it. The following is performed largely by the concept of brand name being advertised by the use of the different sources of media (Esteves and Resende 2016). There are different brands that have a different choice of target. Coca-Cola, Nike are some brands that target only the consumers whereas IBM, Boeing are brands that offer Business to business value. Apart from the above two brands like Apple and Samsung target both the consumers and business. Advertisements in modern terms can be said to be the backbone in building a successful brand. The importance of advertisement has gone up to such levels that apart from the private sector companies the Government also uses them to advertise about different public sector services, healthcare facilities, new schemes and policies or any other important information related to the interest of public (Sayedi Jerath and Srinivasan 2014). The governments of different countries generally spend a large amount of money behind advertising. Apart from the public and private sector advertisements, there are also the NGOs which takes the help of advertisements to attract donations and revenue from the sources of interest. The companies generally advertise their products and services through a number of different media channels like television, radio and press. However there has been a change in the form of media selection as online advertising and mobile advertising has turned out to be the latest trend in the world of advertisement. The companies provides the necessary sources and information that they wish to be advertised to the advertising agencies and depends on the immense experience of these agencies to formulate a proper advertisement that is easily acceptable to the target population. As mentioned earlier that the money spends on advertising has been increased by quite a fold over the past two decades and it has been estimated at more than dollar 480 billion all over the globe. However recent estimates have tracked the growth of the worldwide spending on advertisement to more than dollar 500 billion. According to, Dindaro?lu (2017) the advertising agencies have been showing a steep rise in the different stock exchanges because of the increasing business that they are attracting. My own estimate shows that compared to the year 2011-12 my own business grew by at least 15% and it has been showing signs of constant improvement. The future trend shows a strong emergence of the consumer brand specially in the areas where the global consumers are in a minority. The growth of the advertising industry has created a new source of competition as large to small scale advertising agencies are directly or indirectly involved in competition that results in acquisition, selling off and many other similar techniques. The large scale multi agency advertising firms compete on the basis of different creative terms like the ability to buy media more cost effectively, knowledge of the market in which they are operating, creative skills of the employees that they employ, global reach and the type of services that they provide to the client companies. My company is a medium sized one and we basically compete in the market by the proper delivery of different value added services through an in depth knowledge of the specific market sectors or by providing a number of specialized marketing services like digital marketing, digital campaigns and many more as such. The smaller agencies are however mostly acquired by the large agencies which decreases the competit ion instantly in the particular sector. Online advertisements on the other hand have been the pillar of strength in the modern advertisement world as it has completely changed the way by which companies approach their target population. A new form of agency namely the AKQA established themselves in the online world much before the emergence of the traditional agencies (Dinner Van Heerde and Neslin 2014). My company follows the similar line as the above mentioned online agencies and has been able to gain quite a good reputation among our clients. Our strategy is simple which is to advertise the content provided by the clients in the online web pages as well as the search engines. The ads are targeted mainly to the potential customers so that they can view the advertisements easily when they browse different web channels or online contents. Conclusion The business strategies of the organization must be transparent and clear enough so that the company can walk in lines of success. The following report will be able to make the readers understand the importance of proper business strategies to achieve profit in the long run. A thorough analysis of the report can also help them to get an idea of the modern world of advertisement and the components and concepts that are related to it. References Dindaro?lu, B., 2017. Social changes during late 19th century The latter part of the 19th century was a witness to several important social changes worldwide. Among them, the two most significant and notable conveyors of global social or cultural changes were the Industrial Revolution that began in the United States and which spread worldwide, as well as its offshoot development, which is the introduction and increased demand of machinery to the labor force. The latter, in turn, vitalized the women's crusade mostly in Europe. Need essay sample on "Social changes during late 19th century" topic? Consequently, this social change resulted into an accumulation of more wealth or start of a more stable financial condition among Americans and eventually of the other people in some parts of the world. The 19th century Industrial Revolution was likewise regarded as the golden era of great inventions. This is because a lot of innovations which eventually became inherent components of today's lives are attributed during the period. In fact, it is because of the many new creations which flourished in the market that people around the world have enriched themselves. Some of the notable of the indicators of the Industrial Revolution were the development in the various industries and technological improvements such as in textiles, railroads and steamships as well as several social implications in the lives of workers and transition from rural to u rban (Halsall, 2007). It is also the period that draws the line and differentiated the male and female block of the work force. It is when the emerging power of the female population was recognized as they entered the labor sector. This second change disputed the conventional role or function of women at their respective families and houses. However, the financial and social liberations of women during this period enabled them to acquire more authority and respect in the society. The capitalists then became concerned with the implications of recognizing women's labor function and promoting their liberty, but at the same time could not dismiss that such social change brought benefits to the economy (Sepehrrad). Despite of the usual reactions to such changes, the above-cited changes, therefore, proved to be critically important and beneficial to both the economic and cultural aspects of the leading countries during the late p eriod of the 19th century References Halsall, P.
